About

I like to watch films about places that I’ve been to or am planning to go to. Simple, right? Except that I also like films about places I’ll never conceivably visit, people I’ll probably never meet and societies which are as of yet largely undiscovered. I’ve been watching ethnographic films for several years and my enjoyment is evolving as I discover more films from different parts of the world. Yet the more I watch, the more I feel as if I haven’t seen anything. This blog is for me to develop my thoughts on new ethnographic films that I watch and connect those films to the world we live in.

Currently living in Berlin, Germany. I’m British but have previously lived in Germany, Austria and China; when I’m not watching ethnographic documentaries I’m learning Chinese, practicing yoga and being a hyperenthusiastic K-pop consumer.
